The painting: N.Y.C. Suite – 23rd floor, is the view from a hotel room in New York City. It is the introduction to the series ModeMachines. A mode machine is a human being absorbed by their environment and partly transformed to it. The bodies are equipped with windows, and function as membranes between the inner self and the city. Open or closed, more or less susceptible to the environment.
