Title: Exposed, installation view on Moscow State Biological Museum
Size: 176 x 250 cm
Material: Acrylic and oil on canvas
Year: 2018
ABOUT: Exposed
The source for this work comes from an old anatomic preparation in the Moscow State Biological museum. The fetus’s hands seem to cover its eyes and ear to hide from exposure and as if some helping actions need to be taken. This action goes out through the headset, a voice of a woman singing a comforting lullaby. In a sense, the lullaby is directed to the visitor as well, since many of us are helplessly exposed from time to time.
Singer: Anastasia Findsen, Sweden.
Song: The Russian lullaby: Bayu Baushki Bay
The story of the lullaby is about a child who needs to sleep otherwise, something horrible will threaten her life.
